JUNE
June 13: Patchwork Sashiko Method
Dates: Saturday, June 13, 9am - 12pm PST
Location: Zoom
Learn how to transform your scraps into a beautiful new textile! Don’t miss this workshop featured in Diana’s brand new book, “Patchwork Sashiko: Transform Your Scraps” from C&T Publishing. The beauty and texture of her Patchwork Sashiko Method is a unique mash-up of different slow stitching and patchwork techniques. You’ll start with a stack of scraps and create a pliable piece of unique patchwork fabric with which to do whatever you want! It’s great for visible mending, incorporating into your favorite bag pattern, or featuring it in a quilt. The textile won't be finished during class, but you'll learn everything you need to continue and complete it on your own.

July 8: Patchwork Sashiko Trunk Show & Demo with Q&A
Date: Wednesday, July 8, 10 - 11:30am
Location: Needle Chasers of Chevy Chase, MD
Diana’s Patchwork Sashiko Method is best appreciated when samples can be seen and touched. This method creates a very textured and tactile textile that adds a unique touch to any sewing project or displayed on its own. Her current collection of sewing patterns including those featured in her book "Patchwork Sashiko: Transform Your Scraps", will be presented. Then, Diana will demonstrate her technique and briefly talk through each step followed by questions and answers. Patterns and kits will be available to purchase.

July 25: Patchwork Sashiko Top Embellishment
Date: Saturday, July 25, 9-4pm
Location: St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild (STLMQG)
Diana's Patchwork Sashiko Method is a unique mash-up of different slow stitching and patchwork techniques. This method produces not only a beautiful textile, but can be applied to clothing. We'll practice laying out a patchwork and hand-stitching before applying it to your own favorite scraps and top. The top should be made of woven fabric (not stretch/jersey) and will be easier to implement if the front is open or is buttoned up. A sewing machine is not needed for this workshop.
