Congratulations, you've made it to Week 4! [insert clapping here 😄]

Thank you for joining the FIRST Sew Along celebrating my new book, "Patchwork Sashiko: Transform Your Scraps". This Eclipse Project Case is a simple make that let's your Patchwork Sashiko textile shine right on the front. And it's useful! Inside you can store all the tools you need for your Patchwork Sashiko practice: thread, needles, silicone needle pullers, marking pens/pencils, snips and a small ruler.

In this final week of the SAL, we're putting it ALL together. Our Shell and Lining are ready to go. All we have to do is sew them together. Easy peasy!

Final Assembly

1.    Use the Corner Curve Template to trace and trim the 4 corners of the Shell and Lining. I like to trace on the WS so it's easier to see.

2.    Mark center of the Shell on the WS at top edge and 3’’ to the left. This will be the unsewn gap.

3.    Place Shell on top of the Lining RST with scrunchie on the inside. Lining is oriented with Needle Minder at top left.

4.    Align the edges and pin.

5.    Sew with ¼’’ allowance leaving a 3’’ gap at the top left that you marked earlier.

6.    Use pinking shears on the corners and trim Scrunchie Closure excess.

7.    Turn RS out. Push out the corners and fold in the gap edges so they match the rest of the folded edge. Press well.

8.    Top stitch around the outer edge.

9.    Mark the center of the case at top and bottom. Then, mark ½’’ to both sides of center. Draw 2 vertical lines to connect the ½’’ marks.

10. Top stitch these lines to create a pen pocket.

You DID it! Admire your work, take a photo of it in some nice golden hour light, or hey, just use it for the purpose it was intended! I hope you found this simple and enjoyable. AND I hope you'll be making more of them now that you're an expert.
